Lasted for the best part of the last hour.

Nothing on my router logs, so it could just be you, but then it depends on what sort of outing.i suppose.

I was well asleep at that time of the morning.

Nothing awry on my BQM.

My BT Infinity went down around 12:30am to 1:30am, it appeared to remain synced etc but was unable to load anything... North West London. When it came back I struggled to load basic websites e.g. google would not load but others would.

Interesting it was around the same time.

I know it looks it but Google is not a basic web page. It loads a vast amount of code which is used for all the background tasks. I did read somewhere the size and have now forgotten it however I remember being gobsmacked at the time as I had always imagines looking at it, that it was somewhere between 5 and 15kb. It expained why such a simple page could be so slow on a poor connection.

Indeed. I adblock as much of Google as possible, and tend to use it as a default home page, or use a speed dial page.

For what it's worth, I tested Google and my own little site, and you might as well use it as a test for bandwidth (Plusnet responses aside). At a smidgen under 100k, it should be a good CTRL+F5 test page.

In other news, at 16:00-16:30hrs and at 16:55-17:25Hrs we've had power cuts here. Was typing this response when the second power cut kicked in. RIP my sync speeds for the last 18 hours.
