That changed in October

My experience for what it's worth. I read that the Hub One was pants but that the BT HH6 could be used with Plusnet and was superior.
While waiting for my connection to go live, I bought two. The standard HH6 and the Business HH6. I found that the HH6s were slightly better with wifi but found to my surprise that they connected consistently 5 or 6Mbps less than the Hub One.
As the wifi with the Hub One was more than adequate in my house for my purposes I chose the better connection speed of the Hub One.
Perhaps there has been a firmware update since the bad reports I read of the Hub One.

I used . Billion 8800NL for my FTTC worked fine - the hub one is rubbish even if the router it is built on is not.

But the majority of users do stick with the ISP supplied device. Unless someone has specific requirements that aren't met it surely is worth just trying the ISP device - if it falls short then they will know where it falls short which will help to select a replacement - if it does enough for what they need then they could save a few quid.

I have no problem with people replacing their devices but if someone hasn't tried the ISP device or hasn't specific requirements that are know to be unsupported then they could just be wasting their money.

Finally up and running with the Hub router! 48/11mb compared to my od Vivaciti 11/1!

I picked up a Billion 8800NL incase I need to upgrade the Hub, but will give it a week or two to see how stable the line is and gets settled.

Just an update to this, after having the Hub connected since going live I was getting disconnected once a day until Thursday till yesterday where it was connected the longest.
The line was anything from 42MB-52MB (42 usually) whenever it reconnected. Also there was weird noises from the hub with wifi as many other people report and have been and getting replacements (still with same issues after afew days).
I already had bought a Billion 8800NL R2 which seems to have a stable connection straight away at 49MB/10MB and no annoying noises. Will see how this goes and hopefully no issues.

Get a Billion 8800NL (it support VDSL2 broadcom) excellent modem as I use it for modem only and use my TP Link VR2600 for better wifi (stronger one) as the Billion wireless are very poor.
