Re: When do Plusnet send end of contract email?

I'll probably drop anytime calls at £10.28/month. Since my wife and I both have good, low cost, mobile contracts with unlimited minutes I can't see a good reason to keep the phone package. Can still pay to make an occasional call if both mobiles are in trouble.

I stopped making calls from landlines (other than 080 calls) years ago, what's the point when unlimited calls on mobiles now costs pennies a month?

Wouldn't a 12 month contract be better? Aren't you stuck on the higher price from next June until the following April with an 18 month contract?

What higher price? It's a lower price. Also, a 12-month contract is almost invariably more expensive than an 18-month contract.

The price will go up next March but I'm OK with that. It will still be chepaer than before.

What's not good is that PN have fouled up the billling and not given me the new price. Ihad to phone to complain. I think they've fixed that. But there's anohter foulup - My new contract is for 80/20 but I'm still on 55/10. The reason for me being on 55/10 rather than 40/10 is historical, to do with the old 40/20 speed which was really 80/20 but throttled.

I'm not impressed.

Incidentally I've been with PN since 2002 and not had too many problems over the years. I doubt I would have been significantly better off with other ISPs.

what I mean is the price will increase part way through the 18 month contract. If you are on a one year contract you may be able to find a cheaper deal after a year.
In my case a one year contract (80/20) negotiated recently was £23 a month, which is cheaper.

The price would go up during the 12-month contract as well.

But only once. If you get the timing wrong on an 18-month contract you could have two hikes (which could even be as much as 20% each time if the financial doom-and-gloom merchants are guessing correctly about inflation).

I now have a nice stable connection at 77.4/20 from my router stats. 73/19 using the speed tester on TBB.

Plusnet have given me a £10 credit in recognition of their foul-ups.

Connection is nice and stable. I hope things will stay really dull with my broadband. It's not something I want to have to think about.
