Third party router settings

[link to this post]

I know how to set it up, well the basic connection but am unsure if there may be specific settings I need to fully utilise the connection
I have a GS ax5400 router I’d like to use as it’s capable of so much more over the Plusnet supplied router

Has anyone got Plusnet and using their own router ?
Best settings would be appreciated

You just need your username and password.

The details are here:

Yes you just need your account username and password (for logging in to plus.net)
the username needs to have @plusdsl.net on the end so it [email protected]

plus these details into the router and it will work fine

I've an RT-AC86U router (running merlin firmware), that got its WAN from a Zyxel modem by PPPOE. I simply unplugged the feed from the modem into the ONT a few minutes after it was installed, and everthing worked perfectly. This saved a world of pain reconfiguring my home network, retained ssh into the router and excellent 5/2.4 GHz wifi.
I might take a look at the Plusnet router someday when I've nothing better to do.
