Do I or Dont I Make The Move :(

[link to this post]

Hi All,

When I first started using Broadband (about 3 years ago) I signed up with a big name to find that the service was a pure nightmare. Speeds slower than dial up and you would have got more customer service out of a piece of driftwood!

For the last few years I have had a great service out of my current supplier. But it would appear that Sky offer the same service at a saving of 10.00 per month.

So to the point:

1. Is customer service ok?
2. Are speeds good?
3. Is the connection solid?
4. Is there any webspace?
5. Does Sky use pop 3 email?

As Im now in the grumpy old man age range, I would prefer to spend more to save my heart exploding through frustration, however, if its a good service then I could do with saving 120.00 a year.

Your comments will be appreciated

Thanks

Ray

1) Depends - they try hard.
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) No
5) Yes.

Mostly these answers apply to sky max - I can't comment on Sky connect.

You must be a sky TV subscriber to use sky BB.

I must disagree with the Sky C.S being good. I'm having trouble getting my order through and have been told out and out lies from Sky C.S. Infact I'm giving them while next Tuesday to sort it out and if not cancelling my order.

Hi Ray, I'm on Mid and all went to plan with a very solid and reliable connection - customer service is good but tech support is rubbish and clearly Sky's weak point; I'd certainly give them a go.

When you give them your MAC code make them repeat it back to you, thats were mine went wrong because once you try and correct it by re-ordering the C.S haven't got a clue what there doing. Anyway I hope you have better luck than me. One thing though I've got a pile of Sky routers thats the only thing they keep sending me but no migration date.
