Exchange rollout

[link to this post]

My father in law is interested in the Sky Base free broadband but unfortunately his exchange hasn't been unbundled yet so he can't get it. I phoned up Sky and asked if they were aware of any plans to unbundle that exchange but I was told that they don't know what exchanges are going to be unbundled or when.
So who, if anybody, does know, and will they be willing to share that information?

Regards,
Steve

With only 3,500 residential subscribers, it won't be very high on Sky's priority list, if at all. Some smaller exchanges just don't have the space for LLU kit.

I realise that but Orange and Be have been unbundling similar sized exchanges in the surrounding area so I thought it was at least worth asking.

Indeed, Sky have also unbundled exchanges of a similar size elsewhere too. Unfortunately Sky don't provide a list of future sites, although you can sometimes get a sneak peak by running your number through their availability checker and looking up to the URL you've been redirected to. If it includes "FUTURENET" then you might be in luck

Hope this helps,

Sam
