Do I Have to Purchase from Sky

My computer is not wirless enabled so do I have to buy the adapter from Sky or can I get it from any local computer shop?

The router is part of the package, so you can't avoid buying it. The wireless can be switched off if you don't want to use it.

By adaptor I assume you mean the wireless adaptor for your PC snd not the router. If so then you can use any wireless adaptor that supports 802.11b or 802.11g as well as cards that support Netgear Super G. Virtually all readily available wireless cards will support at least one of these standards but if you use a USB adaptor make sure it is plugged into a USB2 socket. Also make sure the card support at least WPA security so it can be locked down to prevent unauthorised use as much as practicable.

Any wireless adapter for the PC will do but you don't have to use wireless at all, you can just run an ethernet cable from the router to the PC. If your PC is less than about 4 years old it will almost certainly have an ethernet port already but if it doesn't they are very cheap
