Sky FTTP Ultrafast ordered

After a couple of calls and a couple of calls back in return, done exactly when they said they would unlike some I could mention, I've an install on the second port of my ONT scheduled for early July.

£39.99 for a product based on the 160/30 Openreach product. Could've had 300 TV channels for another fiver but dish = no-no.

Some agents can order it and some can't. Also, it seems as though OLTs, the thing in the exchange Sky buy connection to, can be patchy if they don't already have FTTC cabinets on them.

I would imagine people in new Nokia areas might be hit and miss and that very odd area where a new OLT has been commissioned purely for FTTP in Huawei-land.

The numbers I used were:

0333 759 4255 and 0330 041 3000.

Be aware this is very, very softly launched. They can take customers signing up in limited quantities but still very early days.

They offer Superfast and Ultrafast only at this time: 80Mb, 160Mb Openreach FTTP products.

I would imagine more will be coming and agents will continue to be trained and provided the necessary access - they are still working from home.

Please be patient, be persistent. They were very, very good with me. People who couldn't help had people who could call me back and even though it took a while we got there.

If you want a rapid and smooth order journey strongly recommend waiting. If you're in an FTTP-only area, have Sky TV and want shot of BT maybe give it a go?

Thanks, did they tell you if/when they plan to release faster speeds on FTTP?

Surprised it's not a fiver cheaper than BT, did they give you a price for the 80Mb?

They didn't and I didn't ask, however seems reasonable to think it's the same price as their superfast via FTTC at £27 a month.

They didn't but I know a couple of people there. They will, of course, be releasing higher tiers but it'd be a bad idea of me to share even the approximate timescales I've been given. Sorry.

Unfortunately Sky are unable to provision to anything other than the first ONU port at this time so the order had to be cancelled.

They tried to migrate the line which wasn't feasible.

Shouldn't be a problem for most but please be aware.

Thats a shame, I was looking forward to seeing how you got on with Sky FTTP
