Re: ADSL2+ Upgrade - Sync speeds

Yes, I never wanted to move to LLU because of the costs involved if I had to go back... but 21CN forced me to.
Let us know how you get on.
Me, I am going to demand that they pay for the postage to get their router back, AND reimbourse me for the postage I had to pay to receive it. I didn't need it, but they claimed that my router was incompatible, and that their router would be resolving the problems. Strangely, it made things worse.

Try the irc channel and chat to revk or shaun live to see if they can help.

If 21CN is destined to be like this isnt ukonline possible for you?

damn, seems like aaisp have had a change of policy then as they used to fight tooth and nail on customer's behalf with BTw.

They aren't just ignoring support requests, they are also still invoicing for the service after migration.
The kind of things I would expect from Tiscali.

They still do, and shouting 'staff' on the IRC channel normally has them clamouring to help. Of all the things I could potentially criticise them for support isn't one of them - it's better than any other ISP bar none.

WBC is a mess but of all the ISPs to be with AAISP is probably the best one as they'll fight to get it sorted out.

Unfortunately some things are just unsolvable. BT did WBC on the cheap and have [censored] DSLAMs that can't get anywhere near the rate of someone like Be (I get a stable 16Mbps on Be and 11Mbps on BT/A&A - on two lines with identical attenuation connected to the same exchange).

The connection fee is levied by BT, not AA. Every ISP will have to charge you that. That's the problem with LLU - it costs you to get off it again.

I don't see what the BeBox has to do with A&A. Take it up with Be, but you knew when you signed up that it was only a rental modem.

The only tariff not getting a free router is the basic 1gb/month one. At that price why would you expect anything free? (btw. on A&A they don't demand it back afterwards).

Well, if it's BT's fault, they can return the connection fee to A&A who can give it back to me.

Except I'm on the Pro 4/100 tariff.

That doesn't help if the line is down and you can't get to IRC. But the impression I got is that if you aren't on IRC you won't be getting anywhere.
As for my other complaint, their accounts department's reply when I pointed out that they are still billing after migration is to try to deny that migration has happened.

I did not fob you off, what makes you think I did?

We were also happy to continue looking into the problems you were having but as you insisted on migrating away there is obviously nothing more we could have done.

I am however sorry that we were not able to resolve the issues.
