SRA on Be lines ?

I understand that new BT 21CN exchanges have SRA enabled, and that Be are to start trialling SRA (Seamless Rate Adaption).

Does AAISP have the capability to enable SRA on its Be lines ? And if the answer is "yes", do they have any plans to introduce it ?

They already did a couple of months ago.. then it was backed out (some kind of trial Be were running).

Not heard that BT are planning SRA.. Annex M has been trialled (some AAISP users have it I believe).

I believe there are further trials going on but AAISP will enable it as soon as it's available.

There are also plans for PPPoA I believe but don't know how far those have got (so you get 1500 MTU and standard 0/38 connections - makes switching between BT and Be easier).

Hmm would have thought it would be a disaster that combined with BTs stupid BRAS system

SRA - line goes up and down according to noise quickly so the line doesn't drop

Profile - goes back up after a day or two if you're really lucky

Indeed.. it would be totally pointless, since your BRAS wouldn't change you'd gain no benefit.

I've seen modems show variations in sync speed like that before, on lines that definately don't have any SRA. It's a modem specific thing probably related to noise.

well its great at stopping line drops. But the actual rate adaptiveness in the speed wont exist.
