And now https://labs1.thinkbroadband.com/hs and also http://labs1.thinkbroadband.com/hs

Two links as interested in seeing what difference there is between SSL and HTTP and tweaked one other setting. The upload should be more granular

Also can you confirm what your actual sync speeds are.

A quick check on the first link with Safari gave

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/15981678057...

(note these are tests on a slower line than earlier tests- 564kb/s upstream)

The second link was broken for me?

The sync. speed on the first set of results I posted was 8Mb/s downstream, 1Mb/s upstream.

I'll now try the second link on Firefox.

Alwyn

564 Kbps so best would be 500 Kbps so not going to investigate these tests any further

Dear Andrew,

Sorry, if I was not clear- the original post related to an 8Mb/s; 1Mb/s connection.

I will try the links you sent on that connection, when I have access to it again.

The second link you sent appears to be broken.

Alwyn

In reply to a post by ajseeds:
The second link you sent appears to be broken.

Both links work fine, your browser is probably blocking the second one due to its not secure (i.e. not using https / SSL etc)

Second link previously had a missing "s"

Corrected link works fine, as you say.

Exact upload sync speed is?

Initial conclusion seems to be that SSL has higher overheads for your version of Safari compared to Firefox.
