IPv6

[link to this post]

Trying to set up a new monitor withIPv6

Speedtest tells me the connection is IPv6 enabled but "What's my IP only shows IPv4, similarly BQM set up does nit have the IPv6 details.

Any reason/ideas?

I've got the BQM running OK on IPv6. Excuse if some of the terminology is incorrect; I am an enthusiastic amateur rather than knowing what I am talking about.

Using Windows 10 I had to open a command window then run ipconfig /all. The output included Default Gateway addresses for IPv4 and IPv6. The IPv4 address showed as 192.168.xxx.xxx, the LAN address of the router. I had to use What's My IP to get the WAN IPv4 address for the router to run an IPv4 BQM.

The IPv6 address from ipconfig had 6 blocks and ended with %21. Taking out the %21 and using the rest of the IPv6 address in the BQM brought up a live graph.

Edit: Talking nonsense about the IPv6 address. The default gateway is the IPv6 equivalent of 192.168,xxx.xxx so is not a sensible address for BQM. However, TBB What is my IP and Tracreoute are both returning IPv6 addresses for me.

Have had it running fine before with same hardware setup. This is a new install and in the past BQM set up autofilled and detail confirmed by "What's My IP" neither give details at present. That is the oddity when speedtest confirmed it is there.

JUst got back to it - Speedtest has the full IP6 address and cheked that with IPConfig.

BQM set up - and starting to work.

However - TBB still has an issue: Speedtest and BQM recognise Ipv6 whereas "What's My IP" and "Trace Route" don't.

What's my IP definitely recognises IPv4 addresses - I've just checked on my phone which has a v6 address.
It might be for some reason your browser is making a v4 connection.. not quite sure why though.

Maybe, just a little odd as Sppedtest is browser driven and that is v6.

It runs off different host though so may be why.
Just to add I don't know if Cloudflare may be doing odd stuff with v4 performance being better than v6 or something odd. Main site and forums goes via CF.. speed test does not.
