Setting Port Forwarding

[link to this post]

I've recently got the BT Home Hub and I am trying to get it to allow my
machine to act as a server for a network game (Football Manager 2006).

I was able to do this with my previous Router, the BT Voyager 2091, by
setting up a static IP address and then sorting out the Port
Forwarding.

Now the BT Home Hub doesn't seem to have the Port Forwarding option,
but has the Game & Application Sharing. Unfortunately it has changed
and none of the options allow me to put in my static IP address,
instead only allowing a maximum of 5 characters in each field.

Football Manager uses ports 10093 and 10094.

The options I am given are Protocol (TCP or UDP), Port Range, Translate
To ..., Trigger Protocol (TCP or UDP) and Trigger Port. I've put in
the above ports into the Port Range but what am I supposed to put into
the Translate To or Trigger Port options?

Thanks

it is as it says, you can select the computer name and then hope it works, or you can set the computer with a static IP address the way it should be done. As for getting a computer to keep the same IP via the hub if you go into home network and look about their you can do it their by ticking a box.

Look at that if you put port forwarding into the help section of the BT site all would have become clear.

That is exactly what I was asking for. As for TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP(User Datagram Protocol) you need to know which it is. The other option or if it is both are needed just to set them up on both.

As for port translation for example if somebody sends you a packet and it is set to pass through port 5002 but you want it to come through 6004 on your computer that it was it does. But just for simplicity even myself I just set the same port on both sides.

The only question that seems to be what I'm looking for is:

http://btybb.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/btybb.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bty_adp.php?p_sid=8cyg9pfi&p_faqid=8790

The problem is I don't know what information to put into:

"Select Correct protocol > Port range > Translate to (port no) > Trigger port "

I would use Port Forwarding but none of these variables will allow me to put in my static IP Address. They are maximised at 5 characters as though they are after another port.

I believe my Port Range should be 10093-10094 as those are the ports that Football Manager 2006 wants open.
