I've been with BT for a few years now and had really decent consistent download speeds of up to 6 megs. In the last couple of weeks though the speeds have dropped considerably to less than 1 meg at times. The Inidan help desk say there are no faults on the line and say because my downstream speed is 8128kbps everything is OK. They can't seen to grasp that the actual download speed is low! I have nothing else plugged into the tel point ( eg no Sky, Answering machines etc) There is only the one point in the house with an extension wire to the router which has worked perfectly in the past.
The router is Bthome hub V2 (blackone) and the stats are
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 18:33:49
Downstream 8,128 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps
ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI 0/38
Type PPPoA
Modulation G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type Fast
Noise margin (Down/Up) 12.9 dB / 23.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 21.4 dB / 13.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 12.4 dBm / 1.6 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote) 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 0 / 1
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 7 / 5
HEC Errors (Down/Up) 12 / 1
Error Seconds (Local/Remote) 5 / 2
I rebooted the router but it hasn't made any difference.
Can anybody see anything wrong with these stats or suggest what I can do to improve the download speeds? Thanks
