That is the latest people will either have version 6.1.1.K or the M version like you have.

Also the M update made 2 of my 4 hubs worse.

Paul, when your other hubs died, did all the lights go off? Or which lights stayed on? And what's the main thing you might have done right before all the hubs died? It might happen to me (hope not!) so just wanted to know what might have caused it.

Well one update just caused two to crash and I had to reset it via the wireless association button. The other one with wireless death the light is still on, the one that died and never came back all the lights went off and also a click came from it. Despite many trys to revive it sadly it died.

Why what has happened to your home hub?

Edited: Sorry I used a Scottish how!!

I was just about to post about my hub, but I'll say it here.

I got it yesterday and everything was GREAT - hence that big post I made. But in the night, about 1 AM, I was sorting out the wires on the back of my PC and had to unplug everything. I checked the lights on the hub to make sure it wasn't updating, it wasn't. Everything was fine. So I unplugged everything, and when I connected everything back, only the wireless light and data light would turn on after its startup cycle.

I reset it and it would not even send a DHCP address to my PC's NIC. I check all my Windows settings (even the IP config to auto) but I couldn't even ping it. I think I might have disconnected it at the wrong time, but I know it wasn't in an update. I made sure before I unplugged it! I can't even ping it wirelessly with the laptop. I know it has reset itself because the SSID is back to the BT one. I connected with its own WEP key and the laptop connected, but there is no response.

The hub does make a click noise when it is powered on and powered off. I think that's normal then. But after numerous attempts, I called tech support, they understood and went through the same troubleshoot and accepted it as faulty. They have put a new order through for me so I must wait for deliver in 3-4 days. The Broadband and Internet lights wouldn't even come on, but my other router will, so it's not a net problem. It's sort of got stuck in itself and won't allow itself to be present on the network anymore.

I regret unplugging it, but there is no other way to switch it off. What if it were a power outage even if it wasn't updating.

Paul, have you ever unplugged it during no update and plugged it back in to find it still working - because it should do? Mine doesn't respond now But I should have the right to unplug it when it's not updating...

This must go to feedback! Because it shouldn't lose its ability to connect to the network after power off. I will post soon.

Tech support even said they'll give me a pre-paid address to send this back to so they can establish the cause.

Ahh it fried. Also the prepaid place your sending it too sounds just like the standard returns centre. Unless it goes to astradal park its just a standard return. I had to send mine back at my expense and get it back on the bill.

But if the lights were not flashing all together, it was not doing an update. I have seen 3 of them so far, and I have turned it off when it was going nothing around that time and it worked again.

But trying to find out what caused it is going to be hard, as they are so temperamental from my experience. Working one moment not the next. But I have found the updates happen 1.30 on-wards. Not had one any earlier, first time it happened I went down and watched the light show!!

But reading your post again it sounds like the modem has fried and caused some other things to go as well. I reckon it must be costing BT Less than

The wireless side of it still worked so channel 11 didn't "fry" or anything. If I hadn't turned it off it wouldn't have happened

I would say the

you know when it is going to update as it clicks a few times.

But I think it needs a redesign. The wireless tech on it is several years old excluding the WPA2, only 2 ethernet ports espcially when the wireless is one way only and one at a time(half duplex). So naturally it will be slower. The modem in all the hubs is worse than a 4 year old Intel anypoint 3240 DSL modem that I have from a first stint with BT. That is a USB modem.

As for the cost

I definately didn't hear it click when I unplugged it. Hopefully a one-off.

I think you're right in saying it's half duplex. My Belkin has 2 antennas too, one for out and one for in. Although I didn't experience any performance loss anywhere in the house or garden, and there's a lot of walls to pass through too.

I guess BT get them for

I have the 6.1.1M firmware in a zip file. PM an email that can take 10MB if you wanna try it.
