BT Hub No Ethernet Connection

Decided to ditch the speedtouch 330 ive been using for a week on total broadband and take the hub out the box. The only problem ive had is that i cannot get anything from using the ethernet yellow cable connection. Im on USB no probs using the Hub but ethernet is showing nothing. I've got microsoft 'Windows Defender' running would that block it ?

i assume the speed touch is a usb modem and brings up a dial up connection tab ?

when using a rj45 ethernet cable go to tools/internet options/connections in internet explorer and make sure you check the "never dial a connection" radio button

You would also need to make sure that the Ethernet connection is enabled in network connections.

Ok thanks for the help, i think i might have found the problem. In device manager ive got a yellow question mark next to 'Ethernet controller' the only problem is when you look for a driver to solve it, it returns without finding anything.

You'll need to try and find out what make of ethernet controller it is and download drivers from the web if you don't have the disk lying around somewhere.

Had a look around and found the disk with driver on ! All working fine now
