just signed up to bt well the girlfriend did on an 18 month contract which hopefully if this continues i can get out of it cos they have surley breeched that

ok cool shiny new router comes through with a whole lot of uneeded software

we are getting cut off every 15 mins

i have a max speed of 2.7 meg nothing like the 5.5 ordered

the average speed test comes in at .5mb woohoo

i phone the tech help and get some guy reading from a script and tell me to do what i just told him i'd allready done

nightmare just hope this is just a teething problem

oh yeah using my own modem no fuss no yahoo

Does your own modem give 5 Mb on BT and not disconnect every 15 minutes?

any line stats?

by the way, you didnt order 5.5mbit. you ordered "up to 8mbit" - basically anything from like 0.5mbit upwards. you pay based on data allowance, not speed.

contact 0800 800 150 if you have already went through THD, you have the same problem as me and THD are not very good with them. Try and see if you can speak to a manager and see if they can help.

I am in exactly the same boat as you and I am getting nowhere, mostly because of BTw but like I said to the nice manager today it has nothing to do with me as I don't have a contract with BTw.

not quite some shark from bt phoned up and spun the wife a line about this great service i am not standing for .5 i never had this problem with nildram

its not possible to get 8Mb/s on the line i have so they cannot state it is upto 8 Meg

i could deal with a .5 for an hour or a week any longer than that is just poor service

the worrying thing is it is an 18 month contract surely you should have 2 months i which to cancel a few days is not enough time

i just hope there is a problem and this is not the service i'm stuck with for 18 months

er - yes they can - even 0.5meg is upto 8 Meg.

ok m8 i can offer you upto 50000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000055.5 meg on a 56k modem

how silly does that sound

even 3.6kb/s is upto 50000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000055.5 meg

and i'm not even getting .5 if you wanna get really technical its lower than that
