This works on a Speedtouch 716 / 780 WL so may work on the Home Hub

To access the Home Hub from the WAN port you will need to use the tech username. This can be enabled under the Toolbox/Remote Assistance section of the hub's Web interface;

http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/ras/?ce=1&be=0&l0=2&l1=0

By default this times out after 20minutes (not very usefull), but by entering

Code:
ystem ra config timeout=28417210

Into the CLI you can change this to about 55 years or so.

I'm sure there is, but I'll have to do some further digging on that one
