IP RATE

[link to this post]

hI

Can anyone tell me who controls the IPrate - my connection speed has never been great for any period, had lots of problems arguing with BT about the speed in December, Eventually the IP rate went up from 500 kps to 1500 kps which in turn increased the speed to 1.3, now this morning it is back to 500 kps with a speed of .4.
Feel as if I'm back to square one again. Thanks

You must have had a low sync event. If you cant do anything to prevent that then it will just happen again.

Whatever casued your connection to loose sync and reconnect at a lower rate, which is why you now have a low IP rate

Look here :-
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/2622-another-max-product-update.html

You must have previously been connected at above 1728 Kbps.

Your line has disconnected and reconnected at between 576 Kbps and 1152 Kbps.

If you are still connected at this speed your IP profile will not go up unless you reboot your modem and get a new connection at a higher speed again.

Since my post above, we have just had a thunderstorm and my line lost sync and reconnected at 1760Kbps which has dragged my IP profile down to 1500Kbps.

I have rebooted my modem and sync'd at 3424Kbps but will have to wait 3 days for my IP profile to come back up to 3000Kbps.

What a drag!
