Yeah, this thread has been going since Monday and we all agreed that we are experiencing the same type of problems up and down the country.
I wish there is some BT official info forthcoming indicating what the issue is.

I have been more than happy with my broadband connection from BT in the past, however paying

I have still not heard anything back from BT, I have recently brought this to the attention of the CEO. I should hope for a quick resolution on this.

Again going by the large number of replies it seems as if it is something central e.g. in London which is causing the problems rather than region specific networking.

Woo Hoo !!
Things are looking good this afternoon.
BT Broadband Desktop Help speedtest shows a download speed of 2.8 meg (this is normal for me). Speedtest.net showed the same. The Btopenworld.com/speedtest 15meg file downloaded 43 sec, this is also normal for me.
Everything appears to be back to normal at 14.30hrs today, I hope its the same tonight.

Paul

Well that was short lived, back to slooow again.
BT helpdesk software speed tester gave me the following
Your computer downloaded the file at a speed of:
0.185 megabits per second.
I thought for a wee while that it had been sorted, ho hum :-(

I've noticed a bit of an improvement in the past couple of days. I've been regularly checking my download speed with a test file and had previously posted that it was downloading at 180kb during the day but it dropped to 39kb in the evenings. But tonight I've just downloaded it at an average of around 100kb. Hopefully it's not just a blip....

Same here in Newcastle. Great speeds untill 3 weeks ago. Bt speedtester still fine 6meg, think broadband not bad 4.5meg, web browsing painfully slow, all other speed checks showing a max of 400k at peak times 6meg others. I use to get 6meg all times of the day. rang bt say no problems!!! they have definately done something

There seems to have been an improvement at least for myself, however the silence from BT on this matter is deafening.

Mine is still rubbish this morning.

I've got a call logged with BT and I'm expecting a callback sometime in the next few hours.

Everybody back to normal?
I'm up to my usual speeds since Saturday morning, actually Friday afternoon looked good but there was a drop in the evening.

Things are fine just now.

Did anyone get to know what the problem was?
