Throttled, or ISP problem somewhere?

[link to this post]

Over the last week I've noticed my broadband speed has nose-dived. I have the BT unlimited package (supposed to be 8mb connection, unlimited download volume), I'm close to an exchange (postcode is CB7) but I'm maxing out at around 60k/s now, whereas previously it was in the hundreds - my connection has been fine for the last couple of years (since I signed up basically).

Is there a problem with this exchange, or have BT introduced some traffic shaping?

I'm paying 40 a month for this

Looks like something may have gone wrong with your connection at some point and its knocked your IP profile down
Read about IP profiles here

If your line rate remains stable the profile should return in a few days.

Ok, so it's dynamically decided at the exchange and it'll get around to checking my max again at some point in the future?

I think I understand.

Thanks.
