Cancel migration

[link to this post]

Is it possible to cancel a migration when the active date is on Tuesday (27/5)? And if so, what is the best way to go about it as I'm not sure of my rights as far as this is concerned?

Cheers in advance.

Don't think it will be possible, the migration order will have been submitted to wholesale and you might even be moved by tomorrow morning (Monday).

Your only recourse would be the distance selling regulation to my knowledge, even then your current service provider will become a new provider again as you had left them.

When did you sign up to your new ISP? If it is more than 7 days since you agreed your contact with them then your stuck with the new ISP. Also if your new ISP doesn't let you have a cooling off period you wont be covered by distance selling.

Who is your new ISP, BT?

I dont believe the contract starts until the service is migrated and ISTR that a migration can be cancelled upto 1 day before the required date, after that it may be already programmed .
The migration should not happen before the agreed required by date.

I was talking from personal experience of migrations. All 3 of mine have happened a day or 2 days before migration date given.

To confirm, yes the ISP is BT. I believe I telephoned the order through on the 19th.
