I noticed a few weeks back that i couldnt seem to get faster than 50kb/sec download speeds, but i just put this down to it being peak times and thought nothing further off it. This went on for a few weeks, of similar download speeds and struggle to stream and sort of media i finally checked my router settings
Linksys WAG354G
DSL Status: Up
DSL Modulation Mode: GDMT
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 608 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 18 db
Upstream Margin: 23 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 44
Upstream Line Attenuation: 29
Downstream Transmit Power: 0
Upstream Transmit Power: 0
Now i cant remeber exact numbers from before - but my downstream rate was definatly over 2000 and i was downloading at over 200kb/sec
And from what i can tell this SNR and attenuation is perfectly acceptable and should be able to cope with the speeds i previously had.
So why would this have dropped? Is there something i can do? is it something BT have done?
And is there any point in me phoning BT?
Thanks
