you definately need to sort the physical problem first. if you have not got an nte5 I'm surprised the bt engineer didn't get one fitted as it's standard, google nte5 so know what it looks like then trace your internal wiring from the last extension to where it comes into the property. if you are absolutely sure there isn't one call bt (not bt bb) and they will fit free. that's the place to start.
