Throttling and Data Protection Act

[link to this post]

I'm curious if anyone has, or head of, demanding a reason to why they are being throttled?

A simple request under the Data Protection Act for BT to disclose the records they have of you should sort it. Surely?

BT will just come back to you and say its to provide all users a consistent level of service or something to that effect.

Phoned, they say they do not know if a user is being capped, and it may be rare as only 1% of users are.

Your phone line isn't a living thing so I doubt the DPA applies.

You need a newspaper like "register" to persue the matter under the freedom of information act or alternatively "thinkbroadband" could give bt a try to see their response, bt could hide from devulgeing the information claiming the information requested is a trade secret,

BT are not a Public (Government) organisation and so the Freedom of Information Act does not apply.

No-one mentioned the freedom of information act, you may request data under the data protection act.
