Increase in charges for going over limit.

I've just has an email from BT stating the changes in the Fair Usage Terms from April 1st. See http://online.btbroadbandteam.com/servic...
The charge is increasing from 58p per GB to £1.........an increase of over 72%!
Why such an exorbitant increase I wonder when things are supposedly so tight in the financial world.

Thankfully I am on BT anywhere, so I have the same as option 3. If I had option 1 or 2 and they sent me that letter, then I would tell them to stick it and go elsewhere.

Adrian using Linux on his laptop and loves it.

BTBroadbandanywhere type package.

Hi,
I'm on Option 2, no email yet.
Is this a change in terms and conditions that's severe enough to get out of a BT contract?

Option 2 get an extra 5GB a month free, so could be argued whether to your detriment, particularly as Option 3 is available

Only way to know for sure is for someone to use it to get out of their contract, suspect if it came to negotiations in court, it would boil down to whether you were a regular user of extra usage
