With the Broadband being upgraded to ADSL2 today, you will not see the increase in speed straight away. There maybe settling down period of around 10 days, but you should see and improvement in the next few days.

We have the same experience BT free Upgrade done on 10th July and still no improvement in speed!

We know our distance from the exchange should permit at least 12mb down and 1.2mb up in fact we have a BeBox ADSL broadband on another phone line in the same building which gives us just that, what is going on BT do the settings in our router need changing for ADSL2+ ??

Same here - moved to ADSL2+ and absolutely no difference in down speed - the only real change has been the upstream increasing to 1Mbit and the attentuation increasing about 3db or so.

So much for all the hype.

EDIT: Its not like BT can provide any extra speeds through their network anyhow... but still.

Good point.

A high sync speed between the premises and the exchange will just show up even more how poor the BT Retail capacity provision per subscriber is - ie slow speeds from the servers.

Thats strange, i have seen no attenuration increase, and have since seen a decrease to 32db when its usually 33 in the summer.
