Stuck Profile again

[link to this post]

Hi
Been having issues with my BT Broadband over the past 4 months.
Have emailed Mr Livingstone who passed me over to BT Engineers who sent out Openreach, but I am still getting problems.
Stuck Profile ( 3000 ) it's fixed for a few days the back to square one.
Previous two ISP's over a period of 4 years, never a problem with my profile always around 56000 mark. Nothing in my house has changed, tried my laptop for a few weeks ( hard wired ) makes no difference.
Is there anyone at BT that I can write to, a name would be nice.
Phone Ofcom maybe, or is that a waste of time!!, or pay BT to get out of my contract.
What to do??

Took note of what MrSaffron said, I live in a cul-de-sac backing onto fields.

Could be the cows!!

Could be the electric fence of course.

The IP Profile will wander around based on the sync, how sure are you that it being at 3000 is not because of a sync event every day or two that means it stays at that level?

Remember if takes up to 5 days for it to improve.

Hi
And if I get another line drop? had 2 in 4 days now, could wait for ever for Profile to climb!
By the way using a BT Business 2 wire Hub, before BT Vigor2719Vn.

Yeap that is the nature of the IP Profile system

Its pattern is predictable, what is not is the disconnects due to noise.

Have you done the removal of ring wire, removed excess extensive wiring, sited router at the master socket to reduce the chances of disconnects?

Yep
Done all that, plus a Openreach man checked it all 5 weeks ago.
Like I said it's fallen over again, trying to get my contract terminated, looking for a contact to write to, but I will not hold my breath!!
All the years on ADSL never had this much trouble. It would be nice to know why I am having this trouble now that I am with BT!!!!!!
Is it just me?. Was told once if BT works it's good if not bad luck.
Well I have had my wing, no more to say.

Hi Bap1ow,

Sorry to hear of the problems you have had with your Broadband service. I would like to take a look at this for you to see if there is anything I can do to help improve your service. Please could you email [email protected] with your BT account details and also include a link to this thread. Once I have received those details, I will investigate this and reply to you directly.

Thanks

Paddy

Hi Paddy.

Thanks for the offer.
Openreach engineer coming today, let's hope he can pin the problem down.
Came down this morning to find the line had dropped yet again, sync even lower now.
I have chucked the BT Hub in the garage, ( hope I don't run over it ) back to my Vigor2710Vn now.

Have you been with any other provider that has run the line at these sort of speeds?

i.e. if in the past you were on Home 2000 or slower products, then they are more stable because they run slower.

No
Zen and Newnet, no problems with low profiles!

Which suggests something with the line has changed, since IP profiling system works identically for Zen and Newnet (non llu lines), since they all use BT Wholesale.

Maybe you are on 21CN via BT Retail and running ADSL2+ which for some (particularly slower lines) can be more unstable. Does your ADSL modem report the type of ADSL in use e.g. G992.1
