My order has been an absalute nightmare.
Order 1 was placed on Monday,I got the confirmation email with an order number and activation date but nothing to confirm the new btinternet email that I'd set up,so I raised an enquiry for a duplicate, had a reply saying they could not find the order, so phoned the order line for advice and was told to do another online, placed another order online last night and got an email with another order number, then I was informed that that order had also failed and the assistant offered to input it manually if I could send order details with my MAC, I did this and I'm still waiting .
Don't know what to do now, stay with VM I guess.

Update -
BT have said the reason that my online orders are failing is because my Mac was used when I placed the first order by phone , this order was cancelled when the operator told me that the same package was £4.00 cheaper if booked online.
I've just phoned VM and was told the same mac was still valid, BT say it isn't.
So what happens to the Mac if you cancel during a cooling off period, do you have to wait until the Mac has expired and request a new one every time?
At this point I'm starting to lose the will to live !!!!!
So I might not be moving to BT.

If BT have placed the first order, which was accepted but then cancelled, you may need a new MAC from your current provider as this has been used.
You can request this immediately but may need to persist as the old ISP may say you have had one within the last 30 days, even though it has been "used".

Hi Matt,
I've asked Virgin and they say it's still valid.

They might just be looking at "their" system and assuming it is due to it being within the 30 days.
Try and place with BT again, if they said the MAC has been used, you will need another from Virgin.

Just phoned Virgin again and spoke to very nice, helpful young lady.
I told her the storyand asked if she could replace the Mac, she said " awe bless, yea of course we can" - new Mac on it's way. I said she was the nicest person I've spoken to today, except for the wife of course.

I had the same problem when I moved from I think Eclipse to ADSl24, or it could have been from AOL.
This is bad, I had too many ISPs in the last ten years, a mate of mine have been with Bt for 10 years and yet I been with five different ISPs in that time, started off with Bt, now back with Bt, but not for long

Even better, BT have agreed to honour the price of the package as it was when I placed my online orders.
Just need the new Mac now.
