Capped ! Thanks BT For The INCREASE To 1mb !

[link to this post]

Oh....after some months of warning me they would cap me, BT finally went and did it.

Well, BT, I seriously couldn't give a toss......as my download speeds are such a load of %^&£* that if you SERIOUSLY gave me 1mb that would actually be an INCREASE in speed.

'Fair Use' ?? What a load of bull. What is fair use about a package where one is told 'up to 8mb' but one rarely exceeds 1mb ?

As for 100gb 'limit'...what a joke. A good HD documentary on BBC iPlayer can be 3 - 4 gb. A few hours in Second Life....another few gb. Getting beyond 3gb a day is a piece of cake......though with my connection its 3 rather slow gb.

So I'm depriving all those people who ARE actually getting 8mb of a little speed. There's the irony. I am unrepentant. One day not too soon people will look back at 100gb limits and laugh....in much the same way as we laugh that we ever got by with 56k modems.

At least then I will be able to say " ah..well...I've been using above the laughable level for some time ".

I dumped Bt 3 days back, the best thing I have done for ages I think. Just a shame more exchanges are not LLU.
It was not the 100Gb Limit that annoyed me, it was a the shaping before I even got anywhere near that limit. what annoyed me more is they kept getting in touch saying they will knock a fiver off my internet if I stayed with them for another 12 months. a lousy fiver, oh wow.

I think I am now on a better system and still save that fiver, in fact I have a better service now from two different companies and it don't cost me any more.

I was with Bt broadband anywhere, cost £30 a month in total, £25 for broadband, £5 for mobile phone, 50 mins talk time, 50 text a month.

I knocked the mobile bit on the head first, went for a sim only contract with vodafone, £10 a month, 300 Minutes and more text than I would use, but then 50 was more than I would use, I think I got 1,000 now or something silly like that.

Then I changed my broadband to ADSL24 LLU service, which is £19.49 a month, unlimited and unshaped and I even get a faster sync speed.

So the price evens out, in fact i am paying a few pence less per month and I get more for my money. so I had to buy a new mobile phone, but went for a cheap vodafone touch screen, does what I want, allow me to make and recieve calls and text.
