Hopefully BT_Care can help me too, something similar. I was on ADSL then got account changed into my Mums name from my Dads and I thought we would be upgraded to
ADSL2+ (ITU G.992.5) but only ADSL2 which gave us a little increase in Downstream sync speed, still same IP Profile. Hopefully if we do get upgraded to
ADSL2+ we should see at least 1 or 2 IP profiles better. Hub did connect for an 5mb IP profile but reconnected 12hrs later but slower. My old ADSL and ADSL2 stats below.
ADSL STATS
Downstream 4,704 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps
Modulation ITU-T G.992.1
Latency type Interleave
Noise margin (Down/Up) 8.7 dB / 19.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 46.0 dB / 26.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 19.2 dBm / 12.4 dBm
ADSL2 STATS
Downstream 4,931 Kbps
Upstream 1,027 Kbps
Modulation ITU-T G.992.3
Latency type Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up) 5.5 dB / 5.8 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 46.0 dB / 25.1 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 0.0 dBm / 13.0 dBm
I'm sure I can get more speed on
ADSL2+ and even scottmc . I would like to know why I was only upgraded to ADSL2. My Line attenuation has varied between 45db and 47.db. I do know there is another 3-4db for line attenuation on ADSL2+. If I can connect with 5mb IP profile with ADSL2 what can I get with ADSL2+.

Did Email BT last wek and still got 2 days to reopen it and this is what BT replied with "I have checked your mothers line and can inform you that it was upgraded to the ADSL2 on 26.07.10. BT always gives you the best speed possible on your line. The actual speed is dependent on several factors such as whether you have internal wiring, our network management policy and the number of people using the internet at the same time. Speeds can be lower in the evening at peak times" I knew this anyway.
I use the Broadband alot more then my mum and upgraded her for better deal and thought SPEED too!
Sorry for long post but I would like better value for my money will upgrade to infinity when it comes BT's RFS date 31/12/2010, can't wait.
