Re: Low sync rate

Those error seconds are horrendous.

We haven't asked what the original engineer visit was for. "?"

Are there any extensions present in the house, even if not used. If so, how many, and how many were previously connected to the (original?) faceplate.

You seem to have missed the possibility that there is a junction box before the master with extensions perhaps wired in star fashion from that. Is it possible to check that?

What seems to be the case is that the connection is stable at this speed, even though the error seconds are racking up. The margin variation is also high.

It seems very likely you have a noise source somewhere on your premises or next door. So what was the original callout for, and whatever problem it was, when did it start and what were the symptoms?

I renewed my contract and was told if I phoned the technical line I could have a new HH as mine kept freezing. The help desk was reluctant to supply one and tested the line and said there was a fault so the engineer was requested. Prior to the face plate being replaced there were 2 extentsions which have now been removed. The drop wire enters the house and goes straight to the main socket. I have moved the Hub and restarted it the stats have improved.

Line state: Connected
Connection time: 0 days, 01:58:32

Modulation: G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type: Fast
Noise margin (Down/Up): 6.2 dB / 23.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up): 35.5 dB / 19.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up): 19.8 dBm / 12.5 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up): 0 / 0
CRC Events (Down/Up): 35 / 0
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

BT have confirmed that Interleaving has been ordered for my line so will see what happens now.

That's still a very poor connection speed. You should be getting nearer 8Mbps than 6Mbps on it.

What did you used to get on the HH2, even though it used to freeze? Which exchange is it?
