BT charge for missed customer visits

[link to this post]

Does BT apply their engineering charge for an engineer visit, when the customer does not keep the appointment?

Is the charge still £156 inc VAT?

The letter I had from BT prior to installation said that in the event of not being in when the engineer called for the pre-arranged appointment then 'a charge may be levied'. It didn't give any indication of what the charge would be though..........

What should the customer charge BT if the engineer doesn't turn up?

BT tried to charge for a failed installation and sent me a bill of £256.

I replied back saying, I will pay the £256 provided BT pay me for the loss of earning for taking the day off (I am a contractor).

End result, BT cancelled the charges.
