And you have changed the details in the laptop to match?

If yes, then I'm probably wrong, but why an Infinity install should touch your laptop at all I don't know. You didn't, or the engineer didn't, load the CD I hope?

Edit - typo.

This was a 'managed install' for BT Infinity, the engineer will connect one lappy/Mac/PC wired or wireless, your choice, and then demo it as working.

I am however, with you, on the 'it's just a setting on the wireless adaptor.'

Hello

So has the WPS button on the side of the HH been pressed then try and get the wireless kit (computer or games machine) to log on.

I cant remember what I did in May when getting this but you do press a button on the ruter, some light flashes and you have a bit of time to log a wireless client to it whhile light is on. Normally how they work with a WPS button.

Could try but got no more wireless things to log on to the BT hub!.

Noticed the bit you wrote above and Xbox going so not what I said about the WPS button then.
Out of ideas.
Encription is good and normal so all ok.
Must be the computer.
What is there on right clicking the wireless card in device manager and doing Propities, advanced, wireless mode.

Is it on N wirless. Mine is and same make of computer and goes.

Just a thought. Is the wireless card enabled in the device manager. You said logged into the HH so guessing something is working, Wired or wireless..

changed settings in HH from WPA & WPA2 to WPA & had to change my wireless key name Xbox has picked it up now, is WPA secure enough if so ill leave it like that as my Xbox works now now im going to do a system restore on my laptop & see if that picks up the wireless on HH.

Your laptop should pick it up without a system restore as long as you set it to whichever you mean of WPA and WPA2, as you have contradicted yourself, and get the Key dead right.

WPA is OK, if that's all the XBox can manage. WPA2 is good.

not sure if i have contradicted my self if i have im sorry, all i ment was the setting on HH when i got into it was WPA & WPA2 & my laptop & Xbox didnt pick it up, the setting now is WPA2, is that safe enough to use on my laptop once i get it to pick up again & can anyone easily piggy back on my wireless, sorry if i confused you.

WPA2 is the best setting that you can use at this time, assuming the wireless key is not one that someone can guess.
