Re: Is your Infinity dropping to below 1 Mbps - read this

I have signed in to HH3 and it says that the Software is 4.7.5.1.83.8.57.1.3.(Type A) and is dated at 09.17 07/07/12.
Does this mean that my HH3 has been updated so that the slow downs will stop?

No. What you have quoted is the current time and date (GMT) used by the router's clock for log entries, not the date of the firmware. You need to go into "Settings", then choose the "System" and below that the "Firmware" tabs, which will probably be showing "Last updated: 02/05/11".

BT Infinity 2 HH3 Type A
Via Cat5: DL 78.69Mb/s and UL 16.20Mb/s
Via Wifi: DL 37.15 Mb/s and UL 14.39 Mb/s

Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.57.1.3 (Type A)

Have had no end of trouble since moving to Infinity 2 from BB 3 in May. BT technical support are useless as all they do is read from a script. Note this is the second hub they sent me and no difference.

There is something seriously wrong with their WIFi setup and they just will not listen or should I say they don't want to listen because that would mean admitting they were at fault.

I now wish I had just left alone and lived with 5Mb/s BB.

That looks fine? "No end of trouble" I assume refers to something you haven't posted about.

Re the wireless speed, it is extremely common at medium to high sync speeds for wireless performance to be lower than wired. In your case, what specification of wireless card has your computer got?

Have you also checked what other wireless networks/channels may be clashing with yours? InSSIDER is a superb tool.

I am suffering from this problem. My ethernet connected PC drops to between 1and 2 Mbps whilst both of my wireless laptops continue at full speed. I see from trawling the forums that BT admit that there is a problem, but they say that it only affects infinity. That is not correct, I am on ADSL2+. My line syncs at 13361/1160 and i consistently get 11300/960 when fault not there. My HHB3 has firmware version V100r001c01b031sp09_L_B and a restart immediately restores normal service. Any comments?
