Well it's BT, and so early in the routing could be the metro node mentioned earlier?

According to RIPE, it's a POP.
And it's still under stress.

Well it's pretty much the first Hop too that goes tits up, the ping just gets higher and higher and the throughput tails off with it.

Bt want to send an engineer to my house to test the line, but I feel this will achieve nothing.

It's part of the fault-finding process, so you may as well humour them.
Is your tracert still the same? I think they need to reboot the odd server...

you still havent posted a useful tracert, post one when your tbb graph is messed up or when you seeing slow speeds.

a intermediate hop with high pings that dont follow through just ignore, you looking for the pings to be higher sustained.
