Starter wasn't offered as an option

Also not in an area that's enabled for the additional channels

They weren't able to add BT Sport at the time - think I can live without it

FTTP FVA customers are annoyingly unable to upgrade online - I have a virtual phone line which isn't recognised by BT systems as yet!

I did some digging on this over the weekend. I don't have BT TV but I have DSL broadband and phone line. I occasionally watch BT Sport on the Sky platform.

My options (as discussed with their online help chat) :-

Option 1 - Do nothing and pay £5 per month. Re-contracted for 12 months
Option 2 - Downgrade to BT sport lite - unbelievably re-contracted for 12 months
Option 3 - Remove BT sport. Unfortunately, this is impossible in the online account area.

I would actually question whether it is legal to give 2 options and both require a new 12 month contract?

Following the downgrade link also told me that I didn't have a BT line !!!!

My contract currently runs out mid August and given these BT sport changes apply from the 1st, then I guarantee something will get screwed up and I will be charged for something I don't want.

Downgrading to Lite doesn't mean a new contract. They give you the choice and point out if you don't take up another 12 months contract BT Sport Lite will cost £6 odd when your contract ends.

I chose the downgrade to Lite option with no new contract, because I'm jumping ship when my contract is up anyway.

Hi

How did you downgrade to lite?

I'm only 2 months into my contract frown

How did you downgrade to lite?

www.bt.com/give-me-lite

It doesn't always offer up the correct option though after you provide your phone number.

Thank You - I'll put this over on the BT Community as no one there seems to know how to downgrade !
