I've had 60+ days from a Smart Hub 2 before it rebooted for a firmware update

Yeah, its good to know the Smart Hub 2 also has a long uptime before reboots.

And if you use a third party router.... My Billion 8800 is currently 560 days since last boot and 100 days since last re-sync.
I have not kept track of my IP address, I assume the IPv4 one has not changed in that 100 days. My public IPv6 address for this computer changes daily, that is what Windows does by default.

Agreed, my Linksys Router that I had used since 2016 to when I got Full Fibre 900 only rebooted after a firmware upgrade or if I changed a setting that needed to be rebooted, but 100 days does seem about right.

I think that's a part of the Windows Privacy / Security thing which is enabled by default.

You will see at least 2 Preferred IPv6 Addresses listed (IPv6 Address and Temporary IPv6 Address) which will have the same Prefix, but its the Temp one which is the public one.

My Billion 7800 also ran very long periods between reboots until about 800 days when the wifi card expired in a puff of smoke, a common problem according to the forums. The warranty lasts 730 days and does NOT reset, £80 down the drain ... since then ISP routers have met my limited requirements just fine

If your router hasn't rebooted in 560 days it may well have security issues as it has had no updated software/firmware for 18 months.

The ISP supplied ones usually reboot as they are having regular updates / patches.

Not especially regular, the Plusnet Hub One hasn't had new firmware for well over a year now.

This is partly true, BT Hubs reboot when they become sluggish and unstable, my old Home Hub was rebooting on a 7 to 14 day basis, Smart Hub was about 2 to 4 weeks, or when we used the connection a lot like downloading a huge game.

BT never fixes issues in their routers that they are not aware of sadly there is no contact details to report bugs and issues, I reported them over the phone, via Twitter, yet they never got resolved, which was also a reason I refuse to use BT Routers.

Firmware is done manually when I do it. It has the latest firmware from the Billion site that I installed around the last boot. But you don't necessarily have to update, they raise updates for all sorts of reasons, often due to a customer reported problem that is then fixed but doesn't apply to you. Relative rare updates is a good sign that the design is stable.

I gave up on the Smart Hub when I was on BT for very similar reasons to yours.

It started interrupting my usage randomly rebooting to update firmware every 14 days without fail.

There was no trend to the time.

In the end I went and got a separate modem and router and the connection was rock solid - like it is now on EE.
