I felt the same a few months ago - just a vague "before 2025" on the rollout schedule (Godalming). On a whim I checked the BT wholesale checker a few weeks ago and spotted that FTTP was available. Was rather surprised as ages ago I'd registered with Openreach for them to notify me when it was available but not a peep from them. Had it installed earlier this week and am very happy so far (I'm with iDNet, not BT though). My preference is Swish as they're also in our area, but they're not in our street yet so decided to go for the interim option for now.
