[link to this post]

Hi,

I currently own a Draytek 2800 ADSL router and it has started to play up, it keeps rebooting. Any way the shop where I got it from has offered me a full refund.

Before I send the router back I want to buy a new one so I don

Sorry that was a typo, it does happen. I meant "feature".

Up until now the router has been solid, uptime in the region of 400+ hours, so that

Haven't you rather answered your own question? I'd avoid Belkin for wireless, Speedtouch, Netgear etc are all OK, but if you've found a Draytek works for you, stay with it.

aha - features !

TBH 400 hours isn't a good life expectancy for a router I think the 2800 was a bit of a lemon personally, the 2700 came along pretty quickly after it.

The speedtouch range are a lot less dosh, zyxel and others also do the job pretty well - depends what features you need.

Seriously, I fualt 400 hours was good, shows what I know.

I used to have a Speedtouch 510v4 and that was a solid router as well. Is the GUI of the Speedtouch improved yet?

Yes the Draytek router is good, but I think I am paying over the odds for it thats all, as the VPN and stuff like that I will never use.

My zyxel p2602hw has been up for 400 hours and still going, the modem reconnected itself a few times but the router itself is fine.

I've found that the stability of the router is affected by the quality of the line in my case.
Old house had a max dsl line with no set msr (ie it could sync as fast as it liked) and the router would need rebooting every couple of hundred hours. My new house is stable 8meg and the router is quite happy to stay on 24/7.

So it is, probably why I think 400 hours is good is because at this moment in time my router reboots every 70 - 80 hours.

Think I might try the 585v6 if I don
