Thanks for the info. It looks as if the new site is still under development as I got different options on repeat visits to the same page. Eventually I was given the choice between downloading
firmware_UK_Be_ST585v6_en_6-1-4-3 (7/7/2008): english
firmware_UK_Be-Wh_ST585v6_en_6-1-4-3 (7/8/2008): english

What's the difference between these two and are they both locked in to Be?
I'm with BT but somehow managed to connect a second-hand AOL-supplied router to work OK.

On another question: I only use the Ethernet connection to my computer and would like to turn the wireless LAN interface off. I guess this is possible through the command line interface, but the documentation for that isn't offered there yet. I also have to admit that it's years since I've done anything in DOS!!.

I'd be greatly obliged (if it's possible) if someone could give me one-line batch files to turn this wireless connection on and off. I know I'm being presumptive, but I'm very nervous of the damage I could do if I blundered.

Doh!!! Thanks, my wireless connection is now off at last. I'd got to the higher level window before but missed the 'configure' option in the top line!

Yes T is 29:

1 = 1 (quite easy so far...)
. . .
9 = 9
10 = A
11 = B
. . .
29 = T

Thanks for the link.

The ST585v5 firmware available for download is v5.4.4.1, which I have been using for ages but was not previously available from the SpeedTouch/Thomson UK site. I can remove the download from my web site now.
