How do you figure out SNR with DMT?

[link to this post]

Got my Speedtouch 585 today, downloaded DMT so i could set my SNR lower (from 15) but i cant really see where it tells you how ya SNR is during different times of day.

Can someone point me in the right direction

I think this is somthing to do with it

you move the slider up to reduce the SNR (from memory). Lots of DMT postings in Hardware & Technical sections, its not really a Wholesale issue.

my mistake.

One your picture you see the modem options tab on the top right, click that and there's a big slider control for changing the SNR margin - up = more margin / less speed.

To get a log, you need to run the companion DMT client software.

there should be numbers in the boxes for whatever reason yours are blank.

do as yarwell suggests and remember to untick use default snrm box.

select apply.
then select save.
optionally then reboot the router.

each notch on the slider represents roughly 0.5 db and you cant tweak much lower then 5db below the dslam target.

I think that's because he's pressed the 'Start' button under SNR monitoring - there seems to be a bug that blanks the text SNR boxes out at that point and never refreshes them.. Clicking 'Reload' did the same thing, too - the only fix is to click 'Stop', then reconnect the DMT tool.

That's my (slightly vague) recollection of the last time I used the DMT tool anyway..
