SNR After Reboot

My netgear router was synced at 4226 just a minute ago with a SNR of between 1 - 2db, anyways i rebooted the router and now the sync has gone upto 4768 with a SNR of 6db, what i'm trying to ask is how can the sync and snr go up just by rebooting the router because its not like the time of day changed or anything, it was just a reboot which took about 30secs?.

When was the last (previous) time you rebooted ? That's when the stats were last established.

The sync rate, yes, but the SNR margin would have been been the current one, would it not?

But noise can change by the millisecond - and can make massive differences. Also, the Tx power from the exchange may have increased by several dBm

I am not sure what happened but just by rebooting increased my SNR to 6, it will probably go back down later on as it always does in the evening, but it was odd how it was around 2db then straight after reboot 6db.

The sync yes, but the SNR refreshes every 5secs on my router.

I would guess that the Netgear works out the SNR margin on whatever adsl bins (frequencies) it selected to use when it was last booted, if one of those channels is suffering from interference the SNR would drop. Rebooting it would cause it to assign the least noisy frequencies at the time.
