BT Voyager 2091

I am just wondering what these routers are like at holding long lines cause they also work with the DMT tool and there is one for sale in my town on ebay and its cheap, just thought it would be worth buying?.

I am guessing no one uses these routers then, oh well.

This looks very similiar to my Voyager 205 router but with wireless added. If it shares the same internals then I can say that it is very good at hanging on to long lines, better than the Speedtouch 585 and Netgear DG834GT for staying connected but synching at a lower speed.

regarding the possibility of it being locked to BT

I've just bought one, got it for a cheap price but i'm not all that happy with how it's synced over my old Netgear router, its synced at 4512 and my SNR is at 6.3db, it works with the DMT Tool so i'm wondering how and if i can get more from that tool, the router i've got was already unlocked to work with all ISP's, i've read that these routers use the broadcom chipset so the same as the ST585 then?


PS - my ex Netgear router synced at 4356 with an SNR of around 4 or 5db by the way.

I don't know what the chipsets are but my ST585 typically synchs at around 1056 kbps whereas the Voyager 205 is around 720kbps (yes its a really long line) but the Voyager tends to be more reliable and the difference in speed between the two is not really noticeable in fact I'm not sure if there is any speed difference in actual use.

I bought a used Netgear off Ebay and this won't synch at all at present but I havn't had time to investigate settings / firmware yet.

Well at the moment using the DMT i've got the sync upto 5184 with an SNR of 3.1db stable but i am not sure if its gonna stay stable when the evening comes, this is all with interleaving on so i'm not sure if i'll get more with that turned off.
