2WIRE 2700HGV problems

unlocked 2700HGV and having problems accessing ebay, hotmail and cannot send emails through outlook express using my talk talk account. i have tried swapping 2700HGV router for a MT882 router and ebay, hotmail and outlook express all work fine. replace the 2700 and the problems come back again.

Model: BT2700HGV
Hardware Version: 2701-100588-005
Software Version: 4.25.19

your knowledge would be appreciated.

Try setting the MTU to 1400. Often cures this with TalkTalk.
You can change this in the router but it's probably better to change the network cards MTU using DrTCP.exe ( a google search should find it).

Hi, I second the info given by Nigel, reset your router MTU.

I prefer to find the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting this way,

Finding the largest MTU by EXPERIMENT version 2

First reset windows with Dr TCP to MTU 1500.
Then reset modem/router to MTU 1500 save it, reboot PC and modem/router.

Next from windows, go to Start/Run and type at Open: cmd (then click OK)
At the MSDOS-PROMPT type,

ping -f -l 1472 www.bbc.co.uk

Then reduce 1472 by 10 until you no longer get the "packet needs to be fragmented" error message or
