routers

hi all
can anyone recormend a router for a novice, don't want to pay to much, did read some where on the forums were you can get recondisioned ones

Not an expert but the Speedtouch 546 or the 576 if you want wireless seem good buys.

Only 3 months warranty but many have bought them and often seem new and have worked fine. I bought a couple of 576s a while back and both ok..

a 585v6 is a better buy than the 576 since it's a current device.

been looking at the speedtouch 546 don't want anything to complicated as i don't know how i will get on with one never used a router reconditioned one in the dsl shop only

The difference in price between the 546 & 585v6 is peanuts - you can easily turn off the wireless if you don't need it now, and turn it back on when you change your mind... just a thought.

Cannot see the 585v6 on the site I linked. Did a quick Google and it seems it is circa

no comment on the 576 but from my own experience the 585v6 performs different (better) to the 546v5 (they both same chipset), the 546v6 has a diff weaker chipset.

agggggg - they've sold out - looks like I bought my 3 at the right time
