Netgear DM111P tools

[link to this post]

Used to use DMT for 510 v4 and could do with something similar for my new DM111P. Any one know if there are any tools or diagnostic tools for it?

I understand that RouterStats can just about be coerced into monitoring the basic snr and connection rate but that's about all. See sig. below.

Hm thanks, doesn't seem to work with my router though. All I want to find out is if it's dropping and how often.

Have you tried telnet to the router? Some routers have quite a bit of diagnostic information recorded in various files.

Some Netgears need this command before you can telnet to them.

http://router/setup.cgi?todo=debug

where router should be replaced by your routers local IP address.

I've added the DM111P to RouterStats-Lite. I'm looking for a volunteer to test it before I put it up on my main site.

It's at http://home.vwlowen.co.uk:8765/temp/routerstatslite32.zip if you're interested.

Yes the lite version works here, very nice many thanks. Putting http://router/setup.cgi?todo=debug with my router IP in loads a blank page. I'm guessing that if my line looses sync the connection speed will have a negative spike in it, 5 seconds ought to be enough for RouterStats to see it.

http://router/setup.cgi?todo=debug is the Netgear way of enabling Telnet. Instead of a blank page, it normally says something like "Debug enable!" or something similar. You can then just use a (Windows) command prompt to telnet 192.168.0.1 - which gives the linux busybox signon and prompt #

I've no idea whether it's available in the DM111p though!

I can run telnet 192.168.0.1, it asks for username so I type it in, then password but it won't let me type anything.

Hmm, normally if you log in through the web interface in the usual way, then go to
http://{router-ip}/setup.cgi?todo=debug you should remain logged in if you go to the telnet session within a few minutes so it shouldn't ask for the username and password.

It may be different in the DM111P.
