usb wireless adapters

[link to this post]

Hi,
i use a linksys usb wireless adapter to connect to my router and have had 2 go faulty in as many weeks.

I bought 2 wusb54gsc adapters to connect2 pc s to the router wirelessly last march and they both worked fine until a week ago when mine stopped working. It took me about an hour to find it was the adapter itself that had failed and not the software , So took it back and changed it for another one. Yesterday that one too failed yet the other original is still working fine at the mo.

So Question: Any suggestions or recommendations for a replacement please?

Getting issues myself takes no end of attempts to get connected, stable when it is but so annoying. As it is only my PC next door I am going to resort to a cable as it is cheaper than getting a new USB adapter that may or may not be better.

Any other location and I would go for some homeplugs as most that have them seem to love them.

Has the advantage of being more secure as well.

Just a tad sad..a wee bit old...

Thanks for your thoughts guys, I might go down the Homeplug route possibly, I hadnt thought of those. I dont think a internal wireless card will work very well for my pc where it is situated sadly, at least with a usb adapter i use the extension lead and hang it from the wall to get better reception.
Its strange tho that they just go dead both times when the pc is shut down, even the guy in the shop said it pretty common

cheers
