In reply to a post by nickscs:
I found the Billion would hang on easily at 0.5 - 1 db SNR but the throughput dropped drastically in speedtests, so no gain to go lower than 4.5 SNR daytime. So stuck with my Speedtouch. I used to get random re-boots, as you mention when using version 6.0.5... but since flashing to 6.1.4.3 its been very stable. smile

Interesting. Do you think on the Billion CRC errors were effecting throughput? I get full speed (17.76 mbit) but get the odd pauses when hammering the connection for a long time. CRCs seem low on my line.

Yes very likely. I never found a page to get full stats on the Billion. But that seems to be the case with my Speedtouch. I have followed yr postings re: downloads pausing on these forums.
I am lucky to get 4mbit on my line , wonder if interleaving would improve the CRC`s, but afraid of lower sync speed.

I telnet into the Billion and use the ADSL commands to get CRC and FEC stats. My line is interleaved and it doesn't seem to lower speed, the Max given in telnet for my line is 22 mbit but it's quite stable at 20 mbit so didnt want to push the stability.
