Well, from doing some reading I need to be looking at a router with a Broadcom chipset (preferably the BCM63168 chipset) as I am on a Huawei cabinet. Does anyone know of a one-box solution to replace my SR102 that offers this? What kind of sync speed increase might I see? Many thanks.

The TP Link VR2800 i recommended earlier uses a BCM63168 dsl chipset, with its 4x4 stream wifi radios being the icing on the cake.

Thanks baby_frogmella. Do you know if you can get max attainable rate as part of the stats as well? Thanks.

Yes you can. Have a gander here on the VR2800 emulator & click on 'advanced' tab to see line stats.

Brand new one going for 149 notes here on ebay, they usually retail for 170+ notes.

Thanks again baby_frogmella. Looking at the reviews on Amazon the vr2800 doesn't seem to be held in very high regard. The vr900 seems to fair better but I don't know what chipset it has. If it's the same top chipset from Broadcom I think I would be tempted to get one.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to Amazon reviews as the negative reviews are often down to incorrect router setup (eg using a congested wifi channel) or other non-router related issue. Both the VR2800 & VR900 use a very similar newish Broadcom DSL chipset, however the VR2800 is a 4 stream wifi router whereas the VR900 is only 3 stream (3x3) so you will definitely get better wifi performance with VR2800 even for 2x2 and 3x3 wifi clients. That said the VR900 isn't a bad router at all for the money, but if you can afford it, go for TP Link's best modem/router, the VR2800 smile
